why faithplant?

 Welcome!

faithplant is written to help you grow and mature in your faith. It's also a place to share my own musings about life as a Christian.  

The name "faithplant" is about planting our faith in the rich soil of Christianity - and it's also a humourous play on words that recognizes that sometimes we get tripped up along the way  ("faceplant").

I have come to realize that my sense of humour is part of who I am. Maturity is not about abandoning humour, but about learning how to use it with grace and gentleness. 

I have been blessed to be a pastor for nearly 20 years, yet I still am amazed by God's gracious love, mercy and kindness. I am deeply convicted that Jesus is the answer to our problems, and that living in submission to the word of God - the Bible - is the key to peace.

I have also been blessed to be married to "my favourite wife" (my only wife) for over 30 years. God has blessed us with 2 wonderful children, a kind-hearted daughter-in-law, and an adorable grandson.

Like most people, I have more roles than time to fill them all, but I wanted to blog for fun and for faith.  My hope and prayer is that this site will help deepen your faith and lighten your heart.
